THE WORLD

About 150 years after Judgment, the old world is gone. Humanity survives inside fortress settlements, armed trade routes, and infected territory that never stopped changing.

// 001.A · JUDGMENT DAY
Judgment day

On July 9, 2035, the meteor later designated Judgment struck a Siberian permafrost basin. The impact was catastrophic but not yet world ending. A crater tore open across the tundra, shockwaves rolled across the region, and dust choked the sky around the site.

Within weeks, an international research expedition entered the crater to assess the object. Scientists, military observers, and government representatives documented strange residue on the inner walls, abnormal biological activity in frozen ground, and internal material unlike anything on Earth. Under pressure to push deeper, the expedition drilled into the meteor core.

The drill ruptured a chamber of living matter. Pressurized dark fluid burst across the camp through torn suits, open cuts, and exposed skin. Over the next seventy two hours the site collapsed from within as the first infected researchers transformed. One survivor escaped the perimeter carrying the parasite out of the crater. That breach became the first step in the end of the old world.

// 001.B · THE PARASITE
The parasite

Perseus is not a simple disease. It behaves like an invasive living organism that consumes a host and rebuilds it from the inside. Infection spreads through contaminated blood, bodily fluids, and unsanitized wounds. Once it reaches circulation, recovery is no longer expected.

The earliest victims showed fever, pain, disorientation, and brief periods of unnatural calm before the body began to change. Bones distorted, muscle thickened, organs restructured, and the host remained conscious through much of it. The infected did not die and return. They lived through the conversion into something new.

// 001.C · THE SPREAD
The spread

After the crater breach, the parasite moved faster than governments could understand it. It followed transport hubs, food movement, refugee lines, field hospitals, and every mistake made during emergency response. Quarantines came late, borders failed, and major cities fell in sequence.

Within a little more than a year, national governments had ceased to function as real powers. Military cordons broke, communications fractured, and surviving populations retreated into whatever could still be defended. Nations disappeared. Settlements, factions, enclaves, and moving survivor groups replaced them.

// 001.D · THE WORLD NOW
The world now

Humanity survives in a brutal patchwork. Fortress cities, religious states, military powers, coastal trade settlements, and isolated strongholds hold what territory they can. Outside those walls lie infected zones, altered coastlines, hostile wildlife, parasitic plant growth, and ruins that still attract scavengers despite the risk.

Daily life is shaped by blood discipline. Wounds are treated like emergencies. Medical checks, quarantine, and controlled contact are ordinary parts of survival. Trade still exists, but it is short, tense, and usually armed. The world did not recover after Judgment. It adapted into something harder, meaner, and permanently unstable.

THE FIRST OUTBREAK

Crash site archive · first breach

Initial outbreak at the crash site

The first known outbreak began at the Siberian crash site when the Judgment meteor was opened and the organism inside was exposed. The breach was not a slow leak. Contaminated fluid sprayed across the crater edge, hit the recovery team at close range, and turned a controlled research operation into a bloodborne infection event within moments.

What made the site collapse so quickly was proximity. The researchers were working inside the impact perimeter, handling debris, equipment, and injured personnel in the same space where the fluid had landed. Once blood contact was established, the parasite no longer depended on the meteor itself. It moved through open wounds, emergency treatment, and direct exposure between team members, which is why the first massacre happened almost immediately around the crater.

This archive still records Dr. Sebas as patient zero, not because he was necessarily the first body exposed, but because he was the only researcher confirmed to leave the initial slaughter alive. By the time the site failed, the outbreak had already crossed the line from isolated breach to active spread, and the crash zone became the first human ground the parasite successfully turned into a source of transmission.

// 002.B · INFECTION

THE INFECTED

The infected are not undead. They are living hosts changed by the parasite.

Transmission and change

Infection happens through blood contact. Bites, deep scratches, blood splatter into open wounds, unsanitized injuries, and tainted bodily fluids can all transmit the parasite. Casual contact, air, and decay do not. Symptoms begin with fever, pain, and neurological stress. Mutation follows over several days. There is no recovery.

What remains

The host stays conscious during the change. Bones thicken or lengthen, muscles expand, and organs restructure. The final result is a living predator that needs blood to sustain its altered body. If the parasite is not destroyed within roughly 35 seconds of exposure, it can enter circulation and the host is no longer considered clear.

RISVEGLIO
// OBSERVED IN LORDS AND SOME HIGH TIER AGENTS

Risveglio is a unique power event tied to advanced infected. Each case appears differently. The prevailing theory is that it reflects the original host's deepest desire after the parasite distorts it into a usable force.
